Hello! My name is Andrea and I take partying very seriously.

Party planning has been my thing for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I remember inviting friends over to my house for a specially planned playdates with activities and snacks I came up with all by myself. After that I was planning birthday parties on behalf of friends and family in high school, and then hosting holiday, house, and dinner parties in college. What can I say - gathering and celebrating is my vocation.

I cut my teeth in the Toronto corporate event and entertainment industry under my beloved friend and mentor Carol Priest. She taught me what it meant to plan and execute large scale events with teams of vendors and in all sorts of unique venues without a hitch and have fun while doing it. Now, combined with my experience as a Toronto and Stratford theatre producer, I boast 10 years of live event, private party, and wedding planning experience. My unique set of skills and experience means that I approach your wedding or event from a holistic perspective. That means that I am thinking through every aspect of your event from the host perspective, guest perspective, and vendor perspective to make sure the only tears on your day are happy ones. Informed by this, I do not use any generative AI tools because I believe that you and your unique event deserve thoughtful attention and a tailored, unique approach.

While I am of course happy to plan any events I am a good fit for, I am especially well suited to support Latin American and Christian weddings and events. Because of my own heritage alongside my professional experience and vendor relationships, I am able to create and recommend unique and culturally/spiritually specific elements that will enhance the occasion of celebration, especially if there is a family expectation to include them but you’re unsure how that can fit into the vision you have for your own day. I also have experience with Portuguese, Polish, Filipino, Irish, Scottish and Italian weddings and events and would love the opportunity to continue to expand this list.

Finally, local is the name of the game for me. I endeavor to source as many elements of your wedding or event from within 100km of your venue as possible. Not only does this reduce environmental impacts and is often the budget-friendly option, but it also celebrates the place you have so carefully chosen to host your wedding or event. Some of my favorite venues include your childhood or regular Sunday church and family farms, houses, gardens, or property.

In terms of education, my background is in theatre production and arts management (BFA, Graduate Diploma, and MA), and I am also a certified wedding planner through the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada. I am commited to continued improvement and education through WPIC, the Certified Wedding Planner Society (CWP), and really anywhere I can get my hands on it.

I know firsthand just how stressful it can be to both plan and execute an event that is personally important to you. I’m here to offer you the opportunity to have your event planned and executed exactly how you want it so you can focus on sharing meaningful moments with your guests.

Honesty and transparency is is a priority, and so is coming to the table with various solutions and advice. We aim to create a relaxed and stress-free process on your end while also maintaining a clear attention to detail and rigor on ours.

  • I pride myself on clear, friendly, honest, and timely communication. Messages that contain information for you to consider or require your approval will always come in an email for you to review, while things that require a personal touch or handling will usually come as a phone call. I am available to receive texts but typically only send them for time-sensitive reminders. Any communication recieved is almost always responded to within one business day.

    Each of our couples also receives a log-in to our client portal where they can track not just where I am in your planning process, but also tracks to-dos on your end as well to keep us all on track. Description text goes here

We consider hospitality to be a virtue and an opportunity to honour everyone you have gathered around you for your special day. Therefore every decision we make together gets thoughtfully considered from the perspective of how it will impact you, any guests of honour, and everyone else. We are also taking into consideration your budget, desired timeline, and other important elements and consolidating that with your vendors’ needs. This ensures they aren’t rush and are providing the best service possible which means you’re not rushed and are receiving the best service possible.

  • Andrea is our lead planner on almost every event. Depending on the scope and scale of your day, she may bring an assistant to make sure that every base is covered with contingency. Demars Events also has trusted and certified associates who can also step into lead planner positions if the demand for a certain date is there. For multi-day events, there is always a second associate lead who will cover off with the lead planner to make sure we are running at our optimal capacity and continuous coverage.
